the monoliths

In this group of watercolors and pastels, I use large forms with linear elements to create flow. When I started this series I was thinking about permeable barriers. We are individuals, but we are made up of elements, made up of molecules, made up of atoms. We change daily, as we eat and breathe, consuming new bits of this planet that we are part of. The planet is a unitary system. We are one. My work does not all fit neatly in tidy categories, so I include here works using form but without strong linear elements, and works with linear elements but without monolithic form.
